Sex is good, actually.
I never thought that would be considered a hot take, but here we are. I have a lot of thoughts about sex and pornography, too much for a blurb on my website, but suffice to say I think both are good, healthy, necessary things (not for everyone, mind, but for humanity and society in general) and the backlash against them is both stupid and scary.
Sexual imagery is not inherently bad. It's not inherently classless, or tacky, or of less artistic value, or misogynistic, or fetishizing, or any of the other things it's painted as. It is also not a one-to-one representation of the artist's moral code, nor a depiction of what they do or want to do in real life. It is, however, the only way some people will see a core aspect of their identity represented. It's a powerful metaphor in just about any context; freedom, life and death, war, pleasure, violence, trauma, healing, romance, hatred. Over-censorship robs people of their ability to fully express who they are and share their experience with the world.
But also: I'm a grown-ass adult and I can be horny if I wanna be.
